ProCam X-Lite

Thanks to the invention and development of the smartphone, almost every one of us from developed to developing parts of the world, from children to the elderly carry around powerful cameras with us every minute of the day. Most people tend to use the built-in camera apps on their devices, but the few people who have an actual background in photography crave the apps, that give them back the control of each aspect of their camera, to produce the amazing masterpieces that are the hallmark of a good photographer.

Unfortunately, today, due to the prohibitive prices of professional cameras, most aspiring photographers have to turn to apps like ProCam X-Lite, which in the right hands is able to produce almost exact images as those taken by a professional camera.

Features of ProCam X-Lite

This Android Camera app is quite simple to use. Since it’s the lite version, which is completely free to use, you just have the two modes: photography and videography. You get a set of options on the top of the screen and the bottom of the screen. First let us look at the options on the top:

  • Photo resolution: you can choose from up to ten different resolutions, from 10.0MP to 0.9MP. You can choose your image to be saved in either the JPG format, or in RAW + JPG format. And you can also choose upto what JPG quality you want to save in including 90%, 95% and 100%.
  • Anti-shake: reduces the effect of shaking hands, that can affect the image quality.
  • Location: allows you to attach the location in which the picture was taken.
  • PhotoStamp
  • Face detection
  • Shutter sound
  • You can change the location where your images are saved.
  • Flash
  • Timer: 3s, 7s or 10s
  • HDR

Then you get options at the bottom of the screen, which are mostly to do with taking the images and letting you have manual control of the specific features:

  • FX: allows you to choose from three effects, that you can preset on your image, namely mono, negative and sepia.
  • Scene mode: helps you adjust the camera settings depending on your location and the circumstance. You can choose from a plethora of choices, including but not limited to action, portrait, landscape, night, night-portrait, theatre, beach, snow, sunset, fireworks, sports, party and candlelight modes.
  • White balance: again, you have around eight options to choose from including manual.
  • Focus: you can choose from Auto, Macro, Locked, Infinity, Manual and Continuous Infinity.
  • Exposure Value
  • ISO: you can change the sensitivity of your camera, and change how bright your images appear, by choosing ISO from 50 to 3200
  • Shutter Speed
  • Photo Mode: four modes are available including single photo, burst shots, interval shot and exposure bracketing.
  • Video Speed: can be changed upto sixty times the normal.
